My favourites places are... The Catacombs and any open area without monsters, like the little corner near Fort Ranik and many areas around the Northlands.
They should add an 'exploration' mode to be able to visit those areas without monsters and roleplay easier.

whenever I take new guildies out, I always make sure they kneel and pay homage to the Rabbit of Presear
for he doth give good fortune and good tidings for the future of your character

I remember my first days playing GW. Prophecies was my first campaigne and although I had read a little on GW Guru to understand the game a bit, I didn't know about dye.
I can't begin to imagine how much dye I left on the ground because my inventory was full and I thought "Dye?! Why do I want dye?" LOL.
Of course now that I've played a few other characters through Pre, I've never gotten the dye drop that I did the first time.
Oh, and Pre is my favorite place. There's this river in Wizard's Folly where it's raining lightly and it's just so beautiful and peaceful. I'll just sit there and admire the scenery. I also like that little out of the way village in Wizard's Folly.
I remember being so taken in by Pre that Post was devastating. True it's a game, but having that much of an emotional reaction just proved that ARenaNet did their job.

True, post-searing Ascalon was horrible to play through, as well as being desolate and disheartening. The choice of N/W on my first char didn't help. Yeah, I was nub, touch skills were enticing and since I was in melee range, well, it seemed to make sense. Wish I'd known about wiki and guru back then...

Pre...Oh how I love pre.
I remember the day I stepped into pre. People were friendly and weren't leetists. The scenery was epic and lovely. Pre pretty much sucked me into GW.
My favorite area has to be the little dock next to Aidan's house. Some of my friends and me used to sit there for hours and just talk c:

I think I found the area you're talking about. It's just west of Ft Ranik - you have to go across a stream and through a cave tunnel to get to it. It is beautiful. I can't believe I haven't found it before after playing for so long.

im like... the only person that didnt like pre.. like.. at all. i found it slow, boring, and kinda stale tbqh, but it IS one of the prettiest places for sure, and i can see how that alone makes it fun. my fav starter zone is Shing Jea, for a lot of the social reasons said before, but overall, im a city kinda guy, so the woodsy thing isn't really for me in the first place :P
overall though, i agree, other than a few places in EotN, Vabbi, and some of my personal fav Canthan spots, pre is the most visually impressive parts of GWs...
.. which is kinda.. odd for it being the only good looking place in Proph imo lol.

I personally like the catacombs. I think they're fantastically designed.

I would say The Catacombs is the best dungeon of them and I like going up to the mountians in pre.

Exit from For Ranik, and stick to your RIGHT WALL (That is, walk Northeast). It is in the East side of the river, North from Fort Ranik.
If you ever need a guide in pre-Searing and see me online, just ask for a ride and I'll go back there and take you anywhere.

Thanks! Ill go look now.
I think I found it. I went through a cave and came upon a forest with some ponds and ruins of other buildings.
And why is it called Melandru's garden?

Moonlit Azure - That's the area I found. I think the area they call Melandru's Garden is the fountain area with the Melandru's Stalkers roaming about.

I like all of Pre-Searing, but seem to spend most of my time in Green Hills County. It is fairly large, has some interesting areas and you can see quite a distance in places.

Pre bored me compared to the rest of the games. I think I prefer Cantha's landscapes and GW:EN's attention to detail.
